| Dr. Siemens served
two years in the U.S. Army Medical Corps at Fort Dix, New Jersey, where he
obtained the rank of major and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.
He completed his general surgical training at the University of Louisville
in Kentucky.
A strong advocate for trauma care and
trauma research, his work in general trauma has been presented to the American
Association for the Surgery of Trauma and to the American College of Surgeons
Committee on Trauma. Dr. Siemens served as an Assistant Clinical Instructor
in Surgery at the University of Louisville and is currently a Clinical Associate
Professor of Surgery at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in
Tulsa.
Dr. Siemens is a Fellow of the American
College of Surgeons and a member of the American Medical Association, Oklahoma
State Medical Association, Tulsa County Medical Society, Oklahoma Surgical
Society, and Tulsa Surgical Society. He is also a member of the American Association
for the Surgery of Trauma and Societe Internationale de Chirurgie. He served
as the chairman for the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma
for the State of Oklahoma from 1989 until 1992.
