During Your Visit

At Surgical Associates, our goal is to provide excellence in professional services, and to make your visit with us as satisfying and comfortable as possible.

When you arrive, please check in with our receptionist. If it is your first visit, you will be asked to complete paperwork prior to seeing your doctor.

Please have all medical and insurance information available. For your convenience, this can be done in advance of your visit.

While we make every effort to meet all of our scheduled appointments, it is sometimes difficult to predict exactly how much time a patient's care will require, and occasionally important interruptions occur. When delays arise, you will be notified as soon as possible.

Each doctor at Surgical Associates is helped by a medical assistant who will greet you, and help you prepare for the visit with your doctor.

You are an important participant in your own healthcare. Every doctor at Surgical Associates places a high priority on doctor-patient communications and helping ensure you are an effective member of your healthcare team.

Prescription refills can be handled during your scheduled visit, or may be called in by your pharmacist during office hours.

At the conclusion of your visit, you will be given an itemized bill which shows all charges for your care, along with insurance codes.

If you are to have an operation, you will be asked to meet with scheduling personnel who will help acquaint you with requirements before surgery, the hospital routine, and what you and your family might expect.

These visits apply to operations performed as in-patient or out-patient procedures.

When Surgery is Necessary. Saint Francis Hospital has published information for patients who are being admitted for surgery. This information can be helpful in preparation for your operation.
